The Fall Lyceum series WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA? presents the fifth lecture in our six-part series.
Space – physical, historic, acoustic, and aesthetic – is integral to learning and making music. So is finding silence in our days in order to hear our own voices and to explore the inner worlds, in service to art and building community. The lessons of sound and silence, along with the relationship that develops between conductor and ensemble, are at the center of tonight’s presentation. We will travel to the heart of English choral tradition as taught at the Choral Institute at Oxford University.
Speaker: Jennifer Moore is an award-winning music educator from Willsboro. She attended this summer’s Choral Institute and will talk about her experiences there and why we all need to pursue our passions for learning at any age.
