Hands-On at Whitcomb’s, Summer 2022: Tinctures and Floral Waters
In this three-class series, learn the basic tools and skills needed to build your home apothecary, based on personal preference with the support of folk methods of medicine. Additional classes in Tonics, Elixirs, and Teas (June 25), and Balms and Salves (July 30). Take one, two or all three classes.
In this class we will discuss alcohol/non-alcohol tinctures, appropriate grown and foraged herbs/flowers, folk herb combinations, and floral waters. We’ll also demonstrate the use of a copper still (alembic) for the class using plant matter grown on Thankful Sage Farm School’s own farm. Class participants will take home a floral water made specifically for this class, as well as an information packet to use for their own home apothecary. Pen and paper recommended.
Saturday, August 27 from 11:00am-12:30pm.
Ages 13+
Class fee including materials: $35; all three classes, $75.
