Reception and Artist Interview
Friday, September 1, 6-8:00pm
Artist interview at 6:30
Come explore what it means to be “In Progress” in this half hour interview with Kevin Raines, an artist/teacher/fisherman who seeks constant change in order to create art.
“The question I’m thinking about is, not what do I do now, but how do I originate an experience, to whom will I be speaking, and what will I pay forward? Painting a painting can be a real tough experience so I’d better have something of significance to say.” — Kevin Raines
Kevin’s watercolor landscapes reflect his love of the outdoors. He researches potential sites carefully and then treks long distance to paint en plein air in the wilderness. He often works in collaboration with organizations such as UNESCO, Champlain Area Trails (CATS), The Nature Conservancy, Adirondack Land Trust and the Audubon Society. Kevin taught Art at the University of Maryland and now lives full time in Wadhams.
