In 2024, the garden club sowed over 700 seeds and transplanted them into the Essex Quarry Nature Preserve. This year we hope to be just as successful with ephemerals, sedges and more perennials. We plan to sow these seeds in milk jugs and 4-inch pots at this workshop and them live them out in the snow to cold-stratify. After the seeds germinate in the spring, we’ll plant the seedlings at the Quarry. This is an incredibly easy and inexpensive way to sow seeds and have plantings in huge areas. Come join us and learn how with hands-on activity.
