The Dirty Life chronicled Kristin Kimball’s move from New York City to a plot of land near Lake Champlain with her partner, Mark. In one whirlwind year, they started a sustainable farm and got married in the loft of their barn. Good Husbandry reveals what happened next.
Farming has many ups and downs, and while the pleasures of good food and nature abounded, the Kimballs encountered challenges. Mark got injured, the weather turned against them, and the farm faced financial pressures. Meanwhile, they had two small children to care for, and big questions crept in. How does a couple traverse the terrain of a maturing marriage? How can such an agriculturally diverse farm survive? What do people truly need in order to be happy?
